We discussed  the different ways we all composed and found there were many different ways, with one way not being the correct way. Here are some of our processes:

• Get a musical idea (melody, motif etc)
• Start at a Piano/Guitar/Instrument
• Improvise
• Have a non-musical idea – Stimulus
• Start with the harmony
• Start with the melody
• Make a plan – Structure
• Have fun
• Use graphics
• Explore an instrument
• Practice your instrument but get distracted and start improvising
